The U.S. Department of Labor (“DOL”) published initial guidance last night and states that the Families First Act becomes effective on April 1, 2020, not April 2, 2020 as previously understood.

The DOL has also indicated that it will provide a 30-period of non-enforcement provided employers attempt to comply in good faith.
