Known for her accessibility and straightforward approach, Emily is committed to achieving her clients’ goals. Emily focuses her practice on creating, reviewing, and implementing benefit and compensation programs designed to meet the needs of single employer and multiemployer clients.

Employee benefit plans are an effective tool for attracting and retaining talent and for securing the financial and physical wellness of today’s workforce. Emily helps employers navigate the complex and evolving legal landscape surrounding benefit plans to ensure that their plans are well-designed and properly maintained.

Emily assists with day-to-day plan administration issues, and she’s heavily involved in drafting plan documents, required notices, and participant communications. She also helps resolve plan errors under the IRS and DOL correction programs. Emily regularly advises on a wide range of issues relating to health and welfare plans, defined contribution plans, defined benefit plans, and other benefits. In addition, Emily assists clients on benefits issues in connection with corporate transactions.

Emily graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in English Language and Literature. After graduating from Michigan, she spent time working as an English teacher, and she was an active member of her Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan communities. Through Emily's community involvement, she was inspired to pursue a career as a lawyer. She received her law degree and graduated magna cum laude from The University of Toledo College of Law. While in law school, Emily was the Executive Articles Editor of the University of Toledo Law Review, and she received the Dean’s Award for distinguished achievement and service.
